Signing off the Supersport

When the phone rings at 9am on a rainy Tuesday in December and it’s a man from Morgan asking ‘if you’d be interested in helping us develop a new kind of sports car, one that needs to appeal to 911 customers and people who can, you know, drive properly,’ you know it’s going to be a good day. You know too you’re not going to think about much else until that ‘helping’ process actually begins.

So it was that a couple of months later, on a cold but crisp day in February 2024, I met the man from Morgan – former Aston Martin dynamics engineer Tony Kiss – and his merry team at Castle Combe and we all started to get stuck in.

Although we had the track to ourselves, to begin with we drove only on the road, and in two very different kinds of Morgan: one the existing Plus Six; the other the first development mule for the car that would eventually become the new Supersport.
