Will Hamilton win his eighth title in 2025?

Yes he will

It’s really rather simple. Lewis has proven he is the best driver on the grid, and has done so over and over again. No, he’s not won a championship since 2020 but let’s not forget the 2021 title was stolen from him at the very last race through circumstances in which he was an entirely innocent victim.

There has only been one champion since and, without wishing to diminish Max Verstappen’s achievements, it’s a damn sight easier to win multiple world titles if you’re in far and away the best car – ask Sebastian Vettel, whose apparently superhuman talents suddenly looked rather less so when he was no longer in a Newey-designed Red Bull. And the thing about Lewis is he’s the only man on the grid proven to win titles when he is not in the best car.

So let’s address those who produce all kinds of highly selective statistics that prove, they say, that he’s gone off the boil, that age has finally got to him. He’s not the driver he was. It’s all downhill from here. In a word, cobblers.
