It’s Father’s Day on Sunday – and doesn’t that day become a whole lot more interesting once you’ve become a father yourself? – which seems like a fine opportunity to reflect on the cars my dad drove when I was a boy.
(It’s also a good time to remind you that your car-loving dad would no doubt be thrilled to receive a gift subscription to The Intercooler this year. Use coupon code DAD15 at checkout to get 15 per cent off. End of message.)
My dad’s cars? I most fondly remember the Lamborghini Miura that came to stay a while when… No, sorry, that must’ve been a dream. Dad is likely to read this and I don’t want to be rude, but his completely uninspiring series of cheap and flaky workhorses was never likely to fire the imagination of a completely car obsessed young lad. In fact, I remember being enormously frustrated by his total lack of interest in cars and reluctance to spend money on them.
