Dan began his career in car journalism just as the world was slipping into one of its deepest recessions in modern times. Unsurprisingly, the newly launched magazine he worked for as Staff Writer, Performance Car, was canned two years later at the end of 2009.
Undeterred, he carried on in the business as a freelancer, covering the World Rally Championship and writing about cars for various websites and magazines, plus The Daily Telegraph. Three years at Evo magazine as Road Test Editor followed, after which he contributed to Autocar and PistonHeads for a number of years.
Dan co-founded The Intercooler with Andrew Frankel in 2018. He was the proud owner of an Alpine A110, but it made way for a VW Golf GTI Performance Mk7.5 (manual, tartan seats…) in time for the arrival of his first child.
