Geoff Lawson, a former Design Director of Jaguar, once compared our line of work to making movies: ‘Designing cars is like making a film – most of it ends up on the cutting-room floor.’

So car designers, if they’re lucky, can watch proudly as the covers are pulled off a new model they’ve bled over for the last five years, flashbulbs blinking at a global launch at the Geneva Motor Show. However, for each of these moments there are dozens of proposals and ideas that don’t quite make it over the finish line.
