Expectations for the new Audi S3 are not sky high. Which is odd, because Audi’s engineers had at their disposal all the same mechanical hardware that their counterparts over at Volkswagen put to such good use in the previous Golf R (we’ll know very soon if the new Mk8 is better, worse, or just as good). The S3 has tended to be an album track in the fast Audi oeuvre – there to fill in the spaces between the smash hit RS6s and R8s, like hot hatch grout.
