After circumnavigating Iceland in a Dacia Duster, I expected to get on the flight home, reminisce about a wonderful week of roof tent camping, dried adventure food and unbelievable landscapes, with a newfound appreciation for the unreasonably reasonably priced Romanian SUV.
And while the camp spots were stunning, the sustenance tolerable and the landscapes enchanted, our home for the week, said Duster, just quietly existed.
This optimistically described ‘rugged SUV’ valiantly karted around our overpacked suitcases from waterfall to mountain, puffin-filled beach to native horse rides with no hint of complaint, nor much of anything else to be honest, positive or negative.
