Remembering PJ

A few years ago, PJ O’Rourke – widely regarded as America’s funniest writer – read a story I wrote about the 1960 MGA 1600 I had when I was 19 and emailed me this note...

Fright at the museum

The heads-on-spikes are what you see first as you descend the gentle slope of Schwieberdinger Strasse. Thrust high into the sky they seem to send a stark warning to all who approach...

We’re delighted to say The Intercooler has won two more awards, this time at the glitzy Digital Impact Awards, held last night in London’s Grosvenor Square. This follows the two prizes won at the annual Newspress Awards in June, The Intercooler being named Automotive Website of the Year and Automotive Consumer Publication of the Year.

The Digital Impact Awards recognise excellence in digital publishing and communications across all industries. Other winners include household names like Bloomberg, Vodafone, Dyson, Lloyds Banking Group and Dell. We were delighted to see some friends from the car industry recognised too, such as AutoTrader, INEOS Grenadier, Morgan Motor Company and Bridgestone.

The Intercooler has won two more awards!

The Intercooler had been shortlisted in two categories – best digital rebrand, and best use of digital from the technology, media and communications sector. Gold, Silver, Bronze and Highly Commended prizes were awarded in all categories and we were thrilled to come home with bronze awards in both our categories.

For our work to be recognised in this way, at an awards ceremony spanning all industries and reaching far beyond the cosy confines of the automotive sector, alongside enormous multinational brands, is more than we could have imagined possible when we launched The Intercooler in 2021. It suggests that the fundamental premise behind Ti – utilising the most modern digital publishing methods to share good old-fashioned, high-quality car journalism with a passionate audience – has more than a little merit. Our growing subscriber base suggests so too.
