I’ve been doing it myself. In the wake of our hot hatch podcast, there’s been a lot of chatter about the sporty hatchback category being bookended on one side by the Mercedes-AMG A45 S – all £50,595 of it – and on the other by the dinky Suzuki Swift Sport. But without me realising, the Suzuki has been edging its way along the bookshelf in recent times. It’s no longer the entry point to the hot hatch category at all, costing as it does £21,570.
