Working alongside the best car photographers on the planet is possibly the thing I enjoy most about The Intercooler. There are great snappers living and working elsewhere, no doubt, but I’d bet plenty that nowhere has a higher concentration of world-class automotive photographers than the UK.

That this country is home to more of the world’s oldest and best car magazines than anywhere else obviously helps, but I wonder if there’s more to it even than that. Such as our climate – if you’re going to earn a living photographing cars in Great Britain, you’re going to have to learn to shoot when it’s dark, cold, raining and possibly all three at once. And if you can pull a few decent frames out of conditions like those, you’ll create works of art when the setting, subject and light are just about perfect.

We also have beautiful scenery and great roads, some of the world’s most prestigious car manufacturers out there, prosperous low-volume, tuning and restomod scenes and a thriving car community. Despite all the rain, the conditions here are perfect.

So these are my favourite Ti photographs from the last 12 months, with a few memories or reflections to accompany each one. For those who missed them the first time around, or if you’re one of the new subscribers we welcomed into our community over Christmas, you’ll see links to the stories these images belong to.

These images are best viewed on a laptop or computer, but if you are reading this on your phone, try turning it from portrait to landscape to see the photos full-screen.

And since this is the last piece we will publish in 2025, I’d like to wish every one of you a happy and healthy 2026. We can’t wait to bring you much more of the same next year.
