Dear Paul,

Absolutely not. Apart from the additional unsprung weight and as opposed to the 99.9 per cent of car designers who are obsessed by them, I find large diameter wheels aesthetically displeasing. What I like is a small rim with plenty of width. By small I mean no taller than 15in. There’s nothing finer than the sight of a modestly tweaked Mini Cooper S riding on 6x10s. Those numbers will make sense to older readers.
