In third gear the new Porsche 911 Turbo S is so fast that on a ruler straight, sun scorched British A-road, an undulation you’d not notice in almost any other car will earn you the instant, undivided attention of the traction control. It will take you from zero to a lengthy ban in less time than it took you to read the previous sentence. It is preposterously rapid in a straight line, quicker still relatively from point to point.
